Hey everyone! Today I’m going to show you how I decorated my backpack and how to make your own. Recently my style has become a lot more utilitarian, and I needed a backpack that wouldn’t be too heavy, could potentially carry a lot, and that’s versatile. But it needed to be cute and fit my style too! I figured military bags would be extremely sturdy, and they come in all different shapes and sizes, and most can attach to each other for all kinds of combinations. My life is pretty chaotic, so this makes it so easy for me to just grab what I need and go. Depending on what I need for my day out, I can choose which bags to bring, which not to bring, or which to attach to the outside, which means I can show off different patches on different days. This makes finding stuff really easy too!
You need:
- backpack and a few smaller bags
- pins and patches
- iron
- thin towel
- needle and thread (optional)
The first thing you’ll need to do is turn on your iron. I started on medium heat but it wasn’t doing the trick so I switched to high. Make sure there is no steam. Then just lay your patch down and the towel. Press firmly with the iron for about 20 seconds, making sure not to burn the towel. Keep ironing until the patch is secure. You can check by removing the towel and waiting for the patch to cool before poking at it. Repeat this process for every patch. Finally, just attach the pins!
And that’s it!
